Injury Notice
Off the Job Injury
Date of Incident: 11 Aug 2006
Employee while engaged in a game of indoor futsal, lost his footing and sustained torn ligament of his left foot. This happened because of too sudden breaking while running fast causing a sudden shift in weight and therefore force on the leg doing the breaking.
Learning & Recommendations:
1) Longer warm-up activity as supposed to light jogging prior to sports activity.
2) Wear knee-support guards for running and breaking activities.
Sounds familiar? The above was an actual notice (no modifications have been made) passed around in circulation. The date was incorrect. There was no mention of the knee. If there is anything at all that anyone would learn, I hope it would be - careful when playing futsal.
