A Tribute

"The day.. the music died."
- Don McLean (on tragic accident in which a few rock & rolls mavericks were killed)

Now, change that to:

"The day... Alam Shah died."
- Hawking (on original Sek Alam Shah being moved to Putrajaya and renamed Sek Sultan Alam Shah afterwards)

More here.

Now what do I tell my kids? Which school did I go to?? Sek Men Sains Alam Shah?

I won't say that it has died... but nazak. The day it truly dies is when the emblem and the song is changed, and all the teachers from SAS KL left the school in Putrajaya. That day, is the day Alam Shah truly died. And right now, there's no way for it to recover.

I think the alumni of the old school should come out with a memorial site for the school, to commemorate the life and demise of a once truly glorious institution of prestige

ihsan: its partially dead, isnt it. i overheard that alumni is attaching back to sek men sc alam shah.

aliya:: yeah.. i guess i can tell them that. but in reality, as of today.. there only exist sek men sultan alam shah, or sek men sains alam shah. :P

erm, the name change to faris petra, but was it moved?

intan: we are very attached indeed.. i can safely say 2 major frames of my life started there- my career, and arguably & the most controversial.. ehhem. ehhem. :P

i have learned to let go awhile back. erm.. in 2000. :P

tak tau la nape depa pindah. maybe nk bagi duit kat kroni/nepoti-kontraktor yg
1) bina skolah tu
2) supply food & items utk skola baru
3) maintain appliances.. utility.. etc2

heheh.

taufiq: should be sedey.. because i think the earlier generations are even more attached, due to the kind of impact Alam Shah had in their lives.

ehhem: why unromantic? :P

erm, when did u think it start?

ehhem refers to the whole situation actually. but you're welcome to take the ownership if you want to.. ;-)

lets just say.. its more like timeframe than venues. hmm, there's a few venues involved actually. your guess is not far of, no worries.
